Carllie Taggett, a woman from the US, openly criticized Nigerian star Jim Iyke and insisted with documentation that they have been legally wed for more than five years.
In her public protest, Taggett alleged that Jim Iyke had deserted her since their marriage and that she had made vain attempts to contact him.
However, she is using social media to demand a legitimate divorce under American law from the actor and fashion fanatic.

“It has been a pain I bore all these years, I have tried to be reasonable to understand why he abandoned our marriage without a divorce, but he has been evading me, that is why I decided to call his attention, pending when he decides to be reasonable or face the consequences of his actions in marriage court in the US,” she said.
The actor, whose real name is James Ikechukwu Okolue Esomughua, and Taggett allegedly began dating in the US in 2016 and became engaged in 2017.
According to a source, she produced a marriage certificate that was reportedly issued by the proper authorities following their legally recognized union on January 30, 2017, at Dekalb County.

The woman claimed that all the actor could do for her was to be man enough to divorce her legally so that she could live her life in peace, but she was unable to get in touch with him.
“All I have always asked is for Jim Iyke to be a man and come out to give me a divorce so that I can move on with my life because it is impossible to be remarried while my marriage to him is yet to be dissolved through a legal process. “Let me reiterate the point that no one is against him, I just want him to voluntarily come to divorce proceedings or he can take the initiative of coming out for us to settle outside of divorce court if he is serious about it. I don’t think I am asking for too much. All he needs to do is re-establish communication with me because he knows how to reach me, it is that simple,” she said.
Regarding the widely circulated information about his supposed 2017 marriage to an American woman, Jim Iyke has not yet responded.
