The United Kingdom (UK) happens to be one country that has produced a lot of musicians who have graced big stages and a making the country proud.
Another thing we can’t take away from the UK is the fact that some of these artistes are not originally from the UK. Some of these artiste migrated from their home country to seek greener pastures there.
Some others are were also born in the UK but have their parents coming from different part of the world.

Fuse ODG
Fuse ODG, also known as Nana Richard Abiona, was born in London on December 28. He spent his formative years in Ghana. He later returned to the UK to complete his secondary studies at the Croydon Archbishop Lanfranc School.
His breakthrough to the music scene was with his ‘Azonto’ song featuring rapper Tiffany which was relased at the time when the Azonto dance craze had taken over the world.
He later released the song “Antenna,” which top the UK singles chart and Irish singles chart.

Dizzee Rascal
Dylan Kwabena Mills—better known by his stage name Dizzee Rascal was born to a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother on September 18 in London,.
Dizzee went to several different schools In East London. Four of them kicked him out because of his unacceptable behaviour. Dizzee used to argue with his teachers. He eventually got the nickname “rascal” from a teacher, and the name remained.
Dizzee was barred from all classes at the fifth school except music. He became interested in using the school’s computer to create music with the support of his music teacher.

Guvna B
Guvna B, a stage name for Isaac Borquaye, was born to Ghanaian parents in London on June 13, 1989. He is an author, broadcaster, and rapper.
He has 10 albums total that he has released over his musical career. He studied media and business at the University of Hertfordshire.
In addition to three Urban Music Awards for “Best Gospel Act,” Strider Hiry-Guvna holds three MOBO Awards for “Best Gospel Artist.” He has worked with musicians like Michelle Williams, Andy Mineo, and Wretch 32.

Lethal Bizzle
Maxwell Owusu Ansah, formerly known as Lethal Bizzle, was born in Ghana on September 14.
He was a part of the More Fire Crew, a rap crew. Their grime track “Oi!” reached the UK Singles Chart’s top ten.
The majority of his singles released as a lead artist reached the UK singles chart’s top 40. Critics and music enthusiasts have also recognised and complimented his craftsmanship.

Tinchy Stryder
Kwasi Esono Danquah III, better known as Tinchy Stryder in the music industry, was born in Accra, Ghana on September 14. His family relocated to the UK in 1995.
He began making music when he was 11 years old, in 1997. He attended St. Bonaventure Catholic School and graduated from the University of East London with honors in digital arts, moving image, and animation.
Due to his diminutive stature, he was given the nickname “Tinchy.” Later, he added the Stryder, a nickname he adopted after the character Strider Hiry from a Japanese video game.

Headie One
Irving Ampofo Adjei, also known as Headie One, was born on October 6 and is of Ghanaian heritage.
Headie, a Tottenham native, is recognized as a trailblazing innovator in the UK drill scene.
Headie started rapping as a teenager, but he didn’t take it seriously until he was let out of jail for the first time. He began recording music in the early 2010s under the name Headz, and in 2014 he dropped a mixtape named Headz or Tails.
In 2022, Headie One has worked with artists from Ghana, including Smallgod, O’Kenneth, and Kwaku DMC, as well as Stormzy and Drake.

Kojo Funds
Errol Kojo Bellot, sometimes known as Kojo Funds, has mixed Dominican and Ghanaian ancestry. born on March 30th, and raised in East London.
Afroswing, a musical subgenre that evolved in the UK in the middle of the 2010s that combines dancehall, Afrobeats, Grime, Hip-hop, trap, and R&B, is thought to have originally been named by Kojo.
He was nominated for “Best Newcomer” at the 2017 MOBO Awards. He has worked with musicians from Nigeria like as WizKid and DJ Spinall.

Sway Dasafo
Sway DaSafo is the stage name of British rapper and producer Derrick Andrew Safo, who is of Ghanaian heritage.
born on September 5 to Ghanaian parents Beatrice and Alhaji.
In 2006, Sway published his debut album, “This Is My Demo.” One of the best songs in the album is “On My Own.” He released the song “Black Stars” in 2008.
As at that time, he was tagged as the fastest rapper in the UK and has a stint with AKON’s record label Konvict.

Donae’o
Born on February 3rd, Ian Greenidge, better known as Donae’o, is of Guyanese and Ghanaian origin.
Donae’o completed a portion of his education at Alsyd Academy in Dzorwulu in Accra, Ghana.
The musician, who launched his career in 2002 with the song Falling, shot to international fame in 2009 with his smash hit “Party Hard.” Surprisingly, it only has 3.2 million YouTube views.

Stormzy
Stormzy, real name Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., was born on July 26 to Ghanaian parents Michael Omari Sr. and Abigail Owuo.
Stormzy attended Stanley Tech South Norwood while growing up in South Norwood, London.
At his neighborhood youth club, he began engaging in lyrical battles with more experienced rappers at the age of 11.
His Wicked Skengman series, in which he freestyles over vintage grime sounds, helped him acquire some reputation in the underground sector.
