Family

Born in Accra, Ghana on June 23, 1992, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda is a singer, dancehall, R&B, and afropop artist.

Her parents are Ernest and Florence Hamenoo-Kpeda.

She has a younger brother and two older sisters.

Education

She graduated from St. Martin de Porres School, attended St. Mary’s Girls Senior High School, and subsequently pursued her business administration degree at Ghana Telecom University.

Music career

MzVee became the lead vocalist for the girl group named D3 2012, and together they released successful singles like “Good Girls Gone Bad” and “Gyani Gyani.”

Later, in 2013, they broke up to pursue their educations.

She got signed to Richie Mensah’s Lynx Entertainment Record label and began her solo career in 2014 and released her first single, “Bokor Bokor,” featuring Zeal of VIP fame.

She then released her hit single, “Natural Girl,” featuring Stonebwoy and won the Ghana Music Awards’ unsung Artist of the Year award.

In November 2014, she also released her debut album, which featured Didier Awadi, VIP, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale.

Fast forward, MzVee released her second album, “Verified,” in 2015, and it garnered her seven nominations for the 2016 Ghana Music Awards.

Among her nominations are record of the year and album of the year for her single “Aborfra,” which features Efya.

In 2017, she also released the eagerly awaited “Daavi,” her third album.
