Sarkodie has spoken out about his first meeting with Beyoncé, claiming that the American singer knew him before she met Shatta Wale for a duet.

The rapper claimed he met Beyoncé at one of the many BET events he attended but never had the nerve to disclose the story for fear of being questioned.

Sarkodie, the inaugural recipient of the BET’s ‘Best International Flow’ award in 2019, made the remark during an interview with MacG on Podcast and Chill.

He told MacG that Beyoncé approached him many years ago. Adding that this happened before working on ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ production with numerous African singers.

“A humorous event happened, and I haven’t had the nerve to share it yet, but Ice Prince came to Ghana and shared it.” When I travel to Ghana and tell them this story, they would not believe me.

“I was sitting at the BET on the aisle and we have Beyoncé and her crew coming and she saw me and stood right in front of where I was sitting and she bowed her head. Obviously, I was thinking it wasn’t me and so I was looking behind. Then Ice Prince said that was you and she just shook her head and just walked off. So, when I saw her do this new project with a lot of African artistes, I was like these guys kinda know what is actually happening,” he said.
