Following much criticism, Aglow International, a Christian organization in Ghana, has held its monthly intercessory prayer for the country as it struggles economically due to mounting unsustainable debt, escalating fuel prices, and galloping inflation, which has left many complaining and calling on the government to act.
After the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Addo Dankwa took over the reins of government, the group that was particularly active in praying and criticising President John Mahama’s administration appears to have fallen silent.

The group’s national leader has come under fire for her apparent inability to intervene with her group even as the country struggles economically, inflicting considerable hardship.
A Monthly intercessory prayer was conducted at the Black Star Square in Accra on Saturday, March 19, 2022 under the subject “May Your mercy come quickly to meet Ghana, for we are in great need,” in what appears to be a response to the group’s censure.
The intercessory prayer, on the other hand, has failed to please detractors who claim that the group served the interests of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), particularly prior to the 2016 General Elections.
