I didn’t receive a dime for performance towards the National cathedral – Sonnie Badu

Ghanaian and International recognised Gospel singer Sonnie Badu has broken silence on receiving some $50,000 from the government after performing at the launch of the Ghana National cathedral in the US. 

As the day goes by, there are lot of information surfacing on social media in regards to the National Cathedral which has now become an issue of National interest.

According to information that surfaced, the internationally acclaimed Gospel singer mounted the stage during the launch in the United States and only performed for 5 minutes.

After his spirit-filled performance, he received $50,000 as performance fees according to a letter which found it way on social media indicating the breakdown of monies spent so far.

In a respond to a twitter user, Sonnie Badu has revealed that he was never paid a dime before or after his performance.

The netizen wanted to confirm if whether Sonnie Badu was paid that amount for just a 5 mins performance.

He asked: “I’m sure the handlers of @SonnieBaduuk will alert him to clear the air whether he allegedly took $50,000 for singing 5 mins 15 sec at the launch of Ghana National cathedral in USA.”

He revealed in his response that not only did he not get paid but also he and his team were not even offered a seat at the launch meaning the had to stand outside the program came to an end.

“Wow, thanks for alerting me, I was not given a dime.. not even a seat for me and my team, We stood outside..”, Sonnie Badu responded.
