Philemon Mulala, a retired football player from Zambia, passed away at the age of 60 after being discovered in a pool of blood in his own private garden.

On January 7, the former Zambian international football player was pronounced deceased at the scene in Lichtenburg, South Africa.

He played for Copper Bullets, Mufulira Wanderers, and Cape Town Spurs during his active years.

His three pitbull dogs rushed right for his throat and began biting him till he passed out, as seen in disturbing video from the scene of his death.

Sam Tsulanyane, the spokesperson, read from a police statement that detailed how his wife discovered his body.

‘She did not bother to go and check what was wrong [when the dogs were barking] as their house is situated on a busy street and the dogs frequently barked at pedestrians and vehicles passing by.

‘After the electricity was restored [after loadshedding], she went inside looking for her husband, but could not find him.

‘Upon continuing with her search, the woman saw her husband lying motionless outside in the garden. She then went outside, only to find that the husband was bitten by their dogs.’

Mulala played as a left defense, right flank, and other positions throughout his career. He managed to score three goals in six games for Zambia.

The turning point in his career is regarded as his two goals against Kenya in the East and Central African Championship (CECAFA) semifinal, which his team went on to win.
