Former captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has acknowledged the help given to him by former President John Dramani Mahama in 2014.
According to Asamoah Gyan, back in 2014 when his friend Castro got missing while they went together to Ada to go have fun, he called on the President.
He stated that he explained the situation to the then president who asked him how he could be of help to which he(Asamoah Gyan) responded that anything.

The all-time goal scorer for the Blackstars disclosed that with less than an hour after his conversation with the former President, about 10 helicopters arrived at the scene to help in the rescue mission.
Asamoah Gyan revealed that for that alone he is grateful to the former President for coming to his aid in such critical period.
“One thing I remember during 2014 when my friend’s incident happened. I called him on the phone and he asked me what he could do to help and I told him anything he could do.”
He added, “I remember within less than an hour there were like 10 helicopters at Ada.“
“He was the sitting president who normally talks to me on the phone when he was in power and I always appreciate what he did for me when he was in power,” the former Black Stars striker said.
