Akon, a musician well known by his stage name, Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, has paid tribute to Black Sherif.
The Senegalese-American singer claimed in a recent interview that Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif is one of his all-time favorite artists.
He acknowledged his love and admiration for the creator of the album “Villain I Never Was,” one of the newest singers to become popular in Africa.

Black Sherif will be signed to the American-Senegalese singer’s Konvict record company if a major record label declines to sign the budding Ghanaian superstar, according to an interview with Eddie Kadi on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
The renowned artist continued by saying that he is a fan of Black Sherif since the youthful performer reminds him of his early musical career.
“Black Sherif reminds me of when I first started, and I’m a tremendous fan. They must reach him before I do if no major picks him up, Akon added.
In order to promote Ghanaian music internationally, the first and second sermon(s) hitmaker received a nomination for “Best International Flow” at the recently concluded BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Blacko has been a successful two years, particularly after the publication of his album The Villain I Never Was, which has received positive reviews from critics for its range, fervor, and nuanced message.

At the Ghana Music Awards UK, Blacko, as he is most commonly referred to, was selected as the 2022 Artiste of the Year.
He has worked with notable figures in the music industry such as Burna Boy, Stormzy, and Sarkodie.
