Award-winning musician Burna Boy brought in the new year with a performance in the middle of Lagos that has since raised eyebrows.
The Afro-fusion musician did not only arrive late, but he also did not immediately apologize to his followers and atone for his transgressions.
Burna Boy arrived at the show that was scheduled to start at 7 pm at 3 am, eight hours late. His fans bemoaned his tardiness and criticized him.
His home country performances were met with a lazy attitude from his fans, in contrast to his punctual and competent performances abroad.
Burna took the opening few minutes of his performance to scold his audience after they booed him for being late after finally taking the stage.

He also claimed that if a younger colleague hadn’t gone down to implore him to take into account the fans who had waited more than eight hours for the paid performance, he wouldn’t have bothered to mount the stage following their outbursts.
In addition he added that, despite all the hateful things shouted about him, he still values his supporters and says that anyone who does so deserves God’s wrath.
“If no be Seyi Vibez sef I for don dey go house but I dey here with una after una don talk say I kill person for Cubana. After una don talk say my mama dance for Fela. After una….no wahala. I still love you na why I dey here, so if you like no love me, na God go punish you, he said in pidgin language”.
