Tema-based rapper Sarkodie has explained the reason why people see him as stingy simply because they don’t see him giving money out just like his other colleagues.

According to him, his upbringing didn’t teach him to give out or do good in the presence of cameras.

He added that his personality is different from his career and that is the reason why he doesn’t show off for the cameras.

The celebrated rapper made this known during an interview with South African podcaster.

“There has always been a perception about me being stingy. As a person, I just feel like how I am as Michael doesn’t go with the job I do. In showbiz you have to show the things that you do which I can’t.

It seems like you are lying and I can’t do that. I will say Africans love that when people come and throw money. Even if the people had bad intentions you still like them. Even with women, men spend money on you and you think that’s where you should go but they have motives compared to the one who was not really really giving you money but wanted something real,” he said.

“Even in Ghana I hate when I’ve the camera on me and I have to give money to people. My meaning of that is that I don’t respect you. That’s how I see it. So if I’ve money for you and I really want to give you money I know how to go about it”, he stated.

Sarkodie claims he is unwilling to change because of what others think of him, implying that he has multiple supporters.
